The City of Green Bay was awarded $1,003,000 in 2009 through the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG). Nearly $700,000 of those funds will go towards City facility retrofits. Expected savings total over $100,000 per year.
The grant money also enabled the City to launch its Home Energy Audit Rebate Program. For every homeowner that mentions Sustainable Green Bay as a referral, the committee will receive $75 to go towards future sustainable initiatives. For more information about this program, click on the “Home Energy Audit Rebate Program” tab above.
